DanceSport was presented at The Olympic Museum Lausanne, SUI, as part of a promotional event for The World Games 2009 Kaohsiung held there on 18 June. Day three of the DO World DanceSport in Platja d'Aro included two premieres in the 17-hour non-stop programme. A Wheelchair DanceSport competition took place for the very first time in Spain. The 68 couples who will contest the DanceSport medals at The World Games 2009 Kaohsiung have been announced. DanceSport makes for a record sell-out at The World Games 2009 Kaohsiung.
Just 20 minutes after ticket sales for The World Games 2009 had started in Taiwan, at noon on 1 April, all 440 floorside VIP seats to the DanceSport competitions at the Kaohsiung Arena were sold out. The Association of Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF) elected IDSF President Carlos Freitag as its Vice President.
